The timeframe for taking specific steps to comply with the new regulations is restrictive.

All shipping companies will be required to open a Maritime Operator Holding Account („MOHA”), which will allow them to deliver and trade allowances, within 40 days of publishing the list of companies associated with the national administration authorities.

For shipping companies not included in this list, the deadline is 65 working days from the first port of call, which falls within the scope of the EU ETS Directive.
